About Me: I'm a student currently in my last year of full time education working towards become a vet nurse through a part time course starting in September.
My guinea pigs mean everything to me and i'm often dubbed "The Guinea Pig Mad Woman".
I like reading either through iBooks or a good old paper back. Nothing makes me happier than long snuggles with my boyfriend while curled up with a guinea pig and a book.
I started up a book club after a visit to my local charity book store left me a little unsure on what to read next, asking on the forum everyone seemed really interested in getting everyone more involved in what we each read so here the book club was formed.
I'm a little addicted to gaming, especially playing sims 3 on xbox, i also enjoy graphic design and writing reviews on different things, from books to products.
Name: Gaynor, a.k.a bessiehen on TGPF.
Age: 31.
Location: East Manchester
Number of guinea pigs : I have two guinea pigs (Burt and Clive).
Favourite Book: Cathedral by Raymond Carver.
About Me: I've worked in education support for years as a Teaching Assistant and Learning Mentor. I'm trying to be a writer alongside my current day job and am working on lots of cheesy stories and two very incomplete novels. My favourite author is Raymond Carver and my favourite book is Cathedral (one of Carver's collections of short stories). Although I love a lot of novels I am a huge fan of short stories and have a niche fiction interest of American coming of age tales, particularly those set in the 1950s or 60s (e.g. Catcher in the Rye, The Virgin Suicides). I have always wanted to be an American living in the 50s but sadly am British and brought in Liverpool in the 80s :) but I love to read / watch / learn of anything about America. I started a masters in English and American Studies a couple of years ago which I am hoping to complete one day.
